Barrow-Agee Laboratories maintains a quality assurance unit responsible for monitoring the overall operations and testing procedures in the laboratory. This is done to assure that we provide credible data to our clients. In addition to that, the QA unit assures the management that the facilities, equipment, personnel, method, practices, records and controls are in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations. These recommendations, as well as protocols from the USDA and EPA help make the fundamental basis for the overall quality assurance program of Barrow Agee Laboratories. The quality assurance unit is defined as being entirely separate from and independent of the personnel engaged in the direction and conduct of testing procedures and non-clinical studies being performed in the laboratory. The quality assurance officer of Barrow-Agee performs monthly audits of a wide range of specific areas that have an influence on the overall quality of the laboratory. By utilizing this system, the quality assurance officer spots potential problems and deviations from protocols, and implements the appropriate corrective action, thus insuring that quality control is maintained in the laboratory.
